Kansas Tobacco Retail Training
--
The Regional
Prevention Center of Johnson/Leavenworth/Miami Counties offers Tobacco
Retailer Training to employees and/or retailers and clerks cited for
sales of tobacco to minors. The outcomes of the 2 hour training are:
- Education on the prevalence of
underage tobacco use;
- Awareness of Kansas law
regarding the sale of tobacco products (statutes and penalties);
- Learn how to properly check
identification;
- Learn refusal skills ;
- Be provided with resources to
best support retailers;
- Reduce youth access to tobacco
products.
TIPS -- (Training for Intervention Procedures) is an alcohol education
program to prevent intoxication, DUI, and underage drinking. Specific
programs include On Premise (establishments where alcohol is served),
Off Premise (retailers who sell alcohol), Parents University, Workplace,
Casinos, Concessions and Social Functions.
Baseline -- This 2-day workshop will give you the chance to explore
your beliefs and increase your awareness regarding the impact of alcohol
and other drugs on individuals, families and community. Trained facilitators
will guide you through Baseline's interactive exercises in a non-threatening
atmosphere.
Tobacco Free Teens -- A small group experience designed to assist
young people in becoming tobacco-free. Each group meets weekly for four
weeks. Advance registration and fee required.
